Getting started

Who can use PBD Health?

Adults and children age 2 and older located in a state where our clinicians are licensed at the time of the visit. A parent or legal guardian must be present for visits with minors.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Visits run in your web browser on any phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone.

How quickly can I see someone?

Urgent care visits are usually available within the hour during operating hours (7am to 11pm ET, seven days a week). Primary care, therapy, and specialty visits can be scheduled in advance.

What should I have ready for my visit?

A photo ID for your first visit, a list of your current medications and allergies, and the name of your preferred pharmacy. If you have a thermometer or blood pressure cuff, keep it nearby.

Visits & treatment

What conditions can be treated online?

Most common, non-emergency concerns: colds and flu, sinus and ear infections, UTIs, rashes and skin conditions, allergies, pink eye, migraines, anxiety and depression, and medication refills. See our services page for a full list.

What can't be treated online?

Emergencies such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe injuries, or suicidal thoughts require in-person care. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We also can't perform physical procedures, imaging, or hands-on exams.

Can I choose my clinician?

Yes. For scheduled visits you can pick a clinician from our team. For urgent care, we'll match you with the next available clinician licensed in your state.

Can I get a work or school note?

Yes. If your clinician determines it's appropriate, a note will be added to your visit summary and can be downloaded from your account.

Prescriptions

Can my clinician prescribe medication?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose. You'll pay the pharmacy directly for the medication.

Are there medications you won't prescribe?

We do not prescribe controlled substances, including opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants, and sleep medications in those classes, through telehealth.

How do refills work?

Submit a refill request with your medication name and dosage. A clinician reviews your history and, if appropriate, sends the refill to your pharmacy, usually within a few hours during operating hours.

Billing & insurance

How much does a visit cost?

Urgent and primary care visits are a flat $59. Members pay $29 per month for unlimited visits. Specialty visits are priced per session. See pricing for details.

Do you accept insurance?

You don't need insurance to use PBD Health. If you'd like to use it, we accept many major plans and show your estimated copay before you confirm a visit.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. Health savings and flexible spending cards are accepted for all services.

What is your refund policy?

If a clinician determines early in your visit that you need in-person care, the visit fee is refunded. Memberships can be cancelled anytime and remain active through the end of the paid period.

Privacy & security

Is my information private?

Yes. Visits take place on an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platform. Your records are stored securely and only shared with people you authorize or as required by law. Read our privacy policy.

Can I get a copy of my records?

Yes. Visit summaries, prescriptions, and lab results are available in your account at any time, and we can send records to another provider at your request.
